DESIGN & COPY

Creating compelling design and copy that elicits emotion, generates interest, and in the best cases,
transcends convention, is always a challenge and always worth the effort it takes to get there.

UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA MUSEUM OF ART
Exhibition materials
Art direction, design, copy

During my tenure as the marketing director for the University of Arizona Museum of Art,
I wrote and designed invitations, gallery guides, event collateral, member magazines,
and display advertising. The following pieces are invitations for exhibitions that reflect a
diversity of artists, from the etching suites of Francisco Goya, to the massive wall
tapestries of contemporary African artist, El Anatsui.

CREATIVE MACHINES, INC.
Public art capabilities brochure and portfolio
Design, copy writing

Creative Machines creates and fabricates large-scale public art installations
as well as interactive science museum exhibitions. In order to increase their public art
commissions, the company decided to expand their marketing efforts. I was called
on to design a 28-page brochure highlighting the interactive nature of their work.
The piece was sent to a targeted group of art consultants who work with corporate
clients and city arts committees.

THE MINI TIME MACHINE MUSEUM OF MINIATURES
Museum marketing collateral and visitor guides
Art direction and design

The Mini-Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is a museum in Tucson that exhibits
a vast collection of antique and contemporary miniatures and artifacts. I have designed
visitor guides, a membership brochure, magazine and newspaper display ads, special
event materials, and an annual report for this family-friendly museum.

EMQ FAMILIES FIRST
Foster care display ads and direct mail.
Design, copy writing

EMQ Families First assists children and families in crisis. I wrote and designed
print ads and a direct mail campaign for them. The display ads were aimed at potential
foster families, donors, and estate planners. The mail campaign targeted California
lawmakers, from whom they were soliciting support for increased legislative funding
for family crisis services.

ELIZABETH F. GAMBLE GARDEN
Annual fundraising campaign cover art
Art direction, design

Gamble Garden, a non-profit community horticulture garden and historic estate,
presents an annual spring garden tour as its primary fund raising event. For a number
of years, I've designed cover art and design for all of their promotional materials,
including invitations, postcards, posters, tickets, and a 32-page event guide.
